Although there is not much to Chard itself, Ammonite Lodge was a good base for travelling to the various beaches of the Jurassic coast. Jeremy and Caroline, the owners were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was small, as the lodge is very much a cottage, but was clean, adequate, and comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent!
The parking was very tight, as explained in the advert and in the dark, with a large vehicle, it would be virtually impossible to park.

My stay at Ammonite Lodge exceeded expectations. The room featured comfy beds and attention to detail. Breakfast included delicious homemade jams and fresh fruit, which I enjoyed in the lovely courtyard. Just a touch of traffic noise at night, but overall a great experience.

The atmosphere was very friendly and the room comfortable. Jeremy also recommended a pleasant restaurant (The Oriental Aroma) for me to eat at in the evening. I hope I am working in the area again soon so that I can pay another visit.

Wonderful old house and garden full of character, ideally located for trips to South Somerset, Devon, Dorest or en route to Cornwall. Clean, with everything you need in the rooms, right down to decent-sized mugs and fruit tea sachets. Great, freshly-prepared breakfast but, best of all, proprietors Jeremy and Caroline are a lovely, friendly and helpful couple. We look forward to staying there again.

Oh, I've got to rave about the homemade muffins for breakfast! They were an absolute treat alongside a menu, made my foodie heart sing. Plus, the warm greeting from the hosts and the cozy atmosphere had me feeling right at home. What a gem!
A cheeky critique-the low sloping roof beams. It's all part of the charm of a 250-year-old house, but if you're tall, mind your head-still, the character of the place is radiant!
